JAMES RIZZO
The House that Joe Built
The subject of my most recent paintings involves a narrative collage descriptive of family and family events.
A family assembles its history over time based on a foundation of change. Changes that display periods of greatness and periods of trouble.
Although the experiences we have as individuals and families differ in detail, I feel the emotional subtext is the same for everyone. It is via that subtext I hope the viewer may communicate with the work and hopefully reflect on his or her own experience.
